Microapps

code

MicroApps are small REST applications that are designed from the ground up to be integrated with other applications. Usually, they are not directly useful on their own, but must be integrated into other applications (this is what differentiates a MicroApp from a regular REST application).

microapps.org is intended to serve as a central collection point for these apps to reduce wheel reinvention. It will also provide resources for developers of microapps and be a place to discuss this programming approach.

NMI-EDIT

The primary goal of the NMI-EDIT Consortium, part of the NSF Middleware Initiative (NMI), is to improve the productivity of the research and education community through development, testing, and dissemination of architectures, software, and practices in the areas of identity and access management.

Our development efforts comprise a coordinated set of core middleware tools in the areas of identity and access management architectures, standards for deployments, related directory schemas, and tools. Current major projects include the Signet privilege and Grouper group management, and Middleware Diagnostic tools, and the Shibboleth technology.

Webhooks

Web hooks let you customize, extend and integrate the web applications you use with anything else you can access programmatically. To web developers, web hooks are a simple design pattern that only require the ability to make web requests and to store some extra data about users. To users, web hooks are a way to get events and data in realtime from their web applications. From this they can use the data however they like, empowering them with the ability to extend and integrate, and start seeing the true vision of the programmable web.
